This is an eight-week course, that meets weekly, for families and friends of adults who have a mental illness. The course is taught by family members who have lived this experience.
Topics include: family response to the trauma of mental illness, diagnosis and dealing with critical periods, problem-solving, review of medications, communication skills, and recovery services available.
Free transportation in Wayne & Holmes Counties is available.
NAMI Basics is a six-week educational program for parents or primary caregivers of a child or adolescent living with mental illness. The course is taught by parents who have lived similar experiences with their own children.
The course is available online 24/7.
